Extremely complex multilayer structures can be made by processing features into polymer and adhesive layers and then laminating the layers together to create the subassembly. Micro features of 100µm can be scored or kiss-cut in to polymers or adhesives to create flow channels. This technology can be used for MEMs and Micro-fluidic devices for assay tests in lab environments.
Precision alignment of multilayer structures can be made in a roll to roll format using optical registration on subsequent passes for laser processing of features into the additional layers being added.
