The LaserSharp® STP-400, Débuted at Graph Expo ’08 by LasX Industries, Inc. was a “MUST SEE ’EM” Award Winner. The STP-400 is a fully automated 20˝ (500mm) sheet-fed digital finishing system designed to laser cut, micro-perforate, etch and score complex, variable shapes at digital printing speeds; ideal for short run production of promotional media, greeting cards, and folding cartons. The STP-400 reads barcodes with variable data to identify predefined shapes and locations for personalizing each sheet. Automatic vision registration precisely locates the print for precision finishing. The STP-400 can be configured with a sheet feeder and stacker for an off-line finishing station or it can be integrated in-line to a digital printer.

 

The LaserSharp® STP-400 was a “MUST SEE ’EM” Postpress Systems Category award winner at the Executive Outlook Conference at Graph Expo. The prestigious award helped generate traffic for LasX during the show, however word traveled quickly, and traffic through the LasX booth became a constant and often heavy stream. Traffic was so high that the three scheduled system demonstrations became one continuous full day demonstration by Sunday afternoon. Overall Graph Expo was extremely successful for LasX Industries and the début of the new fully automated digital finishing system.

The LaserSharp® Flexible Packaging LPM-100GT by LasX Industries, Inc. Débuted and Sold Quickly During PackEXPO ’08. The new Flexible Packaging LPM-100GT is a roll-to-roll laser system for processing both easy-open and breathable packaging features in flexible films. It includes two programmable laser modules with adjustable processing areas and auto-focus assembly for a versatile, easy to adjust manufacturing system. The LPM-100GT is capable of processing straight and/or contoured lines in both down-web and cross-web directions, in addition to continuous processing of patterned shapes. This system was designed to micro-perforate and score films at production speeds up to 1,000FPM (300MPM).

 

While the traffic at PackEXPO ’08 for n and breathable packaging applications the show machine was sold on the floor.
