Emily Coffey Joins Precision Converting Group at LasX Industries
WHITE BEAR LAKE, MN, January 17, 2011 – LasX Industries, Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Emily Coffey to the position of Quality Engineer I within the Precision Converting Group at LasX Industries, Inc. As a 2010 graduate of UW-Stout with a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering and Technology Education, Emily joins LasX with experience in the field of quality assurance within manufacturing environments. While working for Phillips Plastics Corporation as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern and later as a Quality Engineering Intern, Emily worked directly with customers on production issues and also spent time developing internal and external corrective actions. As Quality Engineer I, Emily’s focus will be on process improvements and part quality of products produced by the Precision Converting Group. She will serve as lead internal auditor and also perform quality checks on the production floor. Another main commitment associated with this newly created position is to work closely with customers to define critical features to be evaluated during production runs. Emily will also be involved in new product launches in order to improve the transition from the pre-production phase to full scale production. The Precision Converting Group at LasX Industries, Inc. provides contract manufacturing services to the medical device industry for the production of polymer microfluidic platforms, biosensor, and IVD components using LaserSharp® digital converting technology. Laser processing of the complex features found in these devices is an ideal production solution for these markets.
