SAINT PAUL, MN, June 3, 2011 – LasX Industries, Inc. has been selected as silver and bronze winners in the Laser Cutting category of the 18th annual Gold Leaf Awards, selected by the Foil & Specialty Effects Association (FSEA). The prestigious Gold Leaf Awards honor creative and technically difficult works in a variety of categories which creatively incorporate foil stamping, embossing, die cutting, or specialty effects. The awards were presented on May 5 during the gala awards banquet in Nashville, TN. Design, execution, and level of difficulty were used as criteria to judge more than 200 entries submitted by trade finishers and commercial printers from across the globe.

The Milestone Paper Company Wedding Sleeve, laser cut by LasX, was awarded the Silver Leaf Award in the Laser Cutting category. The embellished sleeve, made of pearlized white cover stock paper, exemplifies how LaserSharp® technology is able to greatly reduce processing discoloration as compared to similar laser cutting methods. Taking home the Bronze Leaf Award was the CSW Brochure. The inside panel of this piece was laser cut by LasX in an intricate grid pattern to emphasize printed features on the panel while exposing the material behind it. Additionally, although the Gold Leaf Award winner in the Laser Cutting category was not submitted by LasX, it was produced using a LaserSharp® Module manufactured by LasX Industries.

LasX was also honored to contribute to the production of the 2011 FSEA membership directory, which was also released at the gala awards banquet. This year’s directory cover features a laser cut FSEA logo and text, accenting a vivid foil stamped design.
