Expanding Precision Medical Converting Group.
LasX Industries, Inc. of St. Paul, MN has recently increased their process development staff to address growing customer demand for their Precision Medical Converting Group (PMCG). LasX LaserSharp® technology provides precise high speed laser material processing technology in roll to roll and sheet fed formats as an alternative to conventional methods for cutting, kiss-cutting, perforation and ablation processes. The PMCG offers contract services with a focus on development and production of laminated polymer structures. Micro-fluidic channels, vias and test chambers are processed in polymer and adhesive materials to create multi-layer structures for high volume production of IVD, bio-sensor and assay test devices.
The increased staff allows the Precision Medical Converting Group to work more closely with our customers to develop their designs for next generation products. This allows a seamless transition as the products move to pre-production manufacturing of the components for clinical trials.
LasX PMCG is advancing their unique process capabilities such as in-line web based precision laminating technology which will allow high volume production of laminated structures where one layer is laser cut and precision laminated to a pre-processed layer. Additional technologies will include TracSoft™ edge detection that will provide unprecedented web edge to feature tolerances and metallization removal on polyester substrates to isolate circuit traces.
Tom Daul, Medical Market Program Manager explains, “Our customers recognize the specific advantages of using LaserSharp® technology for the production of their components. The technology advancements we roll out this year will address specific requirements which will enhance our customers’ product performance and part quality.”
LasX PMCG is an ISO 90001-2000 certified company with class 10,000 clean room capability. Contact Tom Daul for additional information at 651-407-0011 or tdaul@lasx.com.
