Increased Customer Demand Drives Production Increases at LasX Industries and FlexPak Services
Due to increased customer demand, local businesses LasX Industries and sister company FlexPak Services are increasing production capacity by increasing work floor space, adding new weekend shifts, and hiring additional staff.
Growth in the flexible packaging industry has increased demand for FlexPak Services’ expertise in using laser digital converting for package manufacturing. To help answer these demands, FlexPak is doubling its production area. This increased space will house the company’s new LaserSharp® equipment that uses lasers to add breathable and easy-open features to flexible packaging used in the food industry. FlexPak is also expanding production by adding a second weekend shift. Together, the company estimates that these moves will double its current capacity.
Increased demand for automation in today’s economic climate is also ramping up LasX Industries capacity. New, high-volume contracts for the company’s Precision Medical Converting Services are resulting in the addition of a third shift in order to satisfy orders. This new weekend shift will aid LasX’s other shifts in the laser processing of medical devices. Record increases in LaserSharp® equipment orders will also trigger the hiring of additional engineering and technical team members.
To staff the new shifts, both FlexPak and LasX are currently accepting applications for employment. For more information, visit the Contact Us page at www.flexpakservices.com and the Job Opportunities page at www.lasx.com.
