Job Title:        Test Engineer
Department:   Research & Development
Reports To:    Controls Engineering Manager

Position Summary:
Highly motivated and energetic person to develop and implement integration and testing procedures for laser system software and/or hardware.  The Test Engineer is responsible for test design and implementation activities relating to the development of high-performance industrial laser systems.  He or she will work under the direction of the Controls Engineering Manager.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Electrical and Software analysis and testing of high-performance laser materials processing equipment and sub-systems.
• Improve existing equipment through engineering analysis, testing, and cost justification.
• Supports internal projects through innovative design of integration and test process
  and workflow.
• Other duties as requested by LasX Management.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 0-3 years experience with an electrical, controls or software engineering position.
• Experience with programmable logic controllers.
• Knowledge of Windows™ operating system.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio C++/C#/.NET software development programs.
• Experience with electrical/electronic components and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong mathematical background.
• Experience with Windows™ personal computers and application programs such
  as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, etc.
• Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to represent LasX in a professional manner to customers and suppliers.

Physical Requirements:

• Extensive time working at a computer workstation.
• Standing and walking on a concrete floor.
• Working in a manufacturing environment.
• Some customer and trade show travel required.  Limited overnight travel.
