Relentless innovation, in service to our customers
LasX was founded in 1998 in St. Paul, Minnesota, to solve our customers’ most demanding material processing challenges. Relentless innovation has never meant technology for its own sake. It means listening to what a converter, a device maker, or a packaging line actually needs, then engineering until it works on their material, at their speed, on their floor. The patents, the platforms, and the lab all came from that habit. Twenty-eight years, five hundred LaserSharp® modules, and 300 machines later, it is still the job.
The technology
LaserSharp® processing modules, the Proton process controller, and LightGuide® software — engineered together so the process you proved in the lab is the process your operators run every shift, with documented recipes, agreed controls, and inspection and maintenance procedures.
The lab
PhotonX, opened 2024 at the St. Paul headquarters: 20–2,500 W, four wavelength families, femtosecond through nanosecond pulses. It exists so you never have to buy a machine on faith — you see your material processed first.
