Roll- or sheet-to-part laser finishing

SmartFinish™
SmartFinish is a configure-to-order laser finishing machine that turns roll or sheet material into finished parts — flexible electronics, security products, medical components, aerospace components, folding cartons, and commercial print. Its patented vacuum process conveyor holds the material flat and in register through cutting, kiss-cutting, scoring, and separation, so high-precision parts are manufactured continuously rather than one sheet at a time. Robotics and automation sort, stack, and pack the finished parts.
Pressure-sensitive label stock on a 100 or 350 mm web runs on MicroLam™. For XY micromachining of individual parts or sheets, see ExactPro™ / SheetPro™.

Configure-to-order
- Process width — 500 mm or 600 mm
- Sheet infeed or roll infeed
- LaserSharp® LPMs — 1 or 2, laser source and power selected on your material
- Part handling package: Essential (part separation and manual takeoff)
- Part handling package: Sort (Essential plus robotic sorting)
- Part handling package: Finish-to-ship (Sort plus robotic stacking and packing)
- µVerify™ — in-line inspection that measures feature size and position and feeds closed-loop control of the laser parameters, plus Pulse beam confirmation. Which features are measured depends on the application.
SmartFinish is a parts machine, not a print finisher that happens to cut. The patented vacuum process conveyor carries roll or sheet material through the laser cell held flat and in register, so every part in a continuous run is cut to the same geometry — flexible circuits, security documents, medical components, aerospace parts, cartons, and commercial print alike. Finishing geometry is prepared from the same digital artwork or CAD that defined the part, so a changeover is a file load, and robotic sorting, stacking, and packing take the finished parts off the conveyor.

Questions buyers ask
How does laser finishing change short-run economics?
The die disappears. On short runs, tooling cost and lead time dominate the job — eliminating them removes both the per-job tooling charge and the days spent waiting for a die. Changeover becomes a file load rather than a setup.
