Capability
Laser Etching
Laser etching modifies a surface to a controlled depth without cutting through it. It replaces chemical etch and abrasive prep for adhesion, creates functional textures, and produces shallow patterns in metals, polymers, and composites — mask-free, dry, and repeatable.

How it works
A scanned beam removes or restructures material at the surface. Pulse energy, overlap, and scan strategy set the depth and the texture. Because the pattern is digital, the same machine produces a bond-prep texture on one part and a decorative texture on the next.
Process envelope
| Depth | Surface to shallow relief |
|---|---|
| Pattern | Digital, mask-free |
| Materials | Metals, polymers, composites, glass |
| Consumables in the etching step | No chemistry or blast media. Machine consumables depend on configuration. |
For bonded assemblies, surface preparation is the step nobody wants to own and everybody blames when the joint fails. Laser surface activation turns it into a logged process parameter instead of a manual step.
