LasX Standard System Warranty

LasX Industries, Inc. (“LasX”) shall provide warranty coverage for its products, to the original Purchaser or Lessee as follows:

LasX shall repair or replace defective parts and provide labor at LasX cost for the period stated in LasX’s quotation, beginning on the shipment date, or anytime during the period of an equipment lease. Cost of travel and living expenses are billed to the Purchaser or Lessee at cost. Refer to Item # 6 for parts not covered under warranty.

Specific conditions and limitations for this warranty coverage are given in the paragraphs below.

  1. This warranty shall apply only to equipment for which installation and training is provided by LasX or an authorized service agent, unless otherwise specified in the quotation. The warranty shall be void if the equipment is relocated or serviced by the Purchaser, Lessee, or any person not authorized by LasX after installation by LasX, unless an authorized LasX technician supervises such relocation or service.
  2. Internal optics or power supply adjustments or modifications performed without the express written permission of LasX will void the warranty.
  3. The repair or replacement of defective parts shall be done at LasX’s plant or at Purchaser or Lessee’s place of business, at the option of LasX. If it is deemed impractical to return equipment to LasX’s factory, the Purchaser or Lessee may request the services of a LasX trained field service technician. LasX and/or its authorized service agent will provide on-site service, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. Cost of travel and living expenses will be billed to the Purchaser or Lessee at cost.
  4. Warranty claims must be made promptly after occurrence of a problem and must be received by LasX within the applicable warranty period. In no case shall more than thirty (30) days elapse after discovery of defect before notification to LasX. Written description of the suspected defect must be enclosed with the product when packed for return.
  5. Before any defective products are returned for repair and/or replacement, authorization from LasX or an authorized agent must be obtained. Instructions as to how and where those products should be shipped will be provided by LasX or an authorized agent. Any product or component returned for examination and/or warranty repair shall be sent insured, freight prepaid, via the means of transportation specified by LasX or an authorized agent. In all cases, LasX has sole responsibility to determine the cause and nature of failure, and LasX’s determination shall be final. A twenty (20%) percent restocking fee will be charged for any defect-free parts returned to LasX at the Purchaser’s request.
  6. External optics serviced by the Purchaser or Lessee (such as protection windows, focusing lenses, or mirrors) and consumable components (like filters and fuses) are specifically excluded from this warranty.
  7. Failure to maintain the Laser Processing Module (LPM) under positive pressure with an approved purge gas will void the warranty.
  8. LasX does not warrant any of its gas-cooled and water-cooled products against damage resulting from negligence in failure to provide, maladjustment of, and/or interruption of the required gas and water cooling, even if such products include protective devices designed to deactivate the product if water service has been interrupted.
  9. LasX does not warrant any of its equipment against failure as the result of things beyond LasX control, including but not limited to acts of mother nature, abuse, accidental damage, environmental, electrical, and/or physical damage, or when operated with a non-LasX-approved type of chilled water system.
  10. LasX does not warrant consumable or mechanical wear parts. These include, but are not limited to:
    • Optics, including lenses, protection windows, and reflectors
    • Filters
    • Coolant Liquid
    • Any work support material, such as the stainless-steel belt and work surface grating
  11. THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTS WHETHER WRITTEN, ORAL, EXPRESS, OR IMPLIED INCLUDING THE WARRANT OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND SHALL BE PURCHASER’S SOLE REMEDY AND LASX’S SOLE LIABILITY ON CONTRACT OR WARRANTY OR OTHERWISE FOR THE PRODUCT.
