Flexible Packaging — Equipment

Laser equipment for Flexible Packaging

Buy the equipment

A machine and a module — FocusPro™ from a 600 mm mid-web to 1,800 mm with up to eight modules and web speeds up to 500 m/min, and Scoreline™ for easy-open scoring on a pouch-making machine you already run. All built on the LaserSharp® module, standalone or integrated into the line you already have.

Equipment for this work

ExactCore

ExactCore is the LasX machine you start on.

FocusPro

The premium flexible-packaging laser converting machine — from a 600 mm mid-web line to 1,800 mm, with up to eight LaserSharp® modules, contour cutting, and drop removal.

Scoreline

Laser easy-open scoring for bag and pouch lines — two modules as standard, scoring both faces of the folded web in one pass, to 840 mm.

LaserSharp LPM

The patented laser processing modules that power every LasX platform — matched to the material and process, sharing one control and software architecture — and drop into converting lines LasX did not build.

What it changes

  • Zero tooling cost and zero tooling lead time
  • Changeover in software, not setup
  • Features mechanical tooling cannot produce at all

How we de-risk this before you commit

  • Sample trial from 300 m (1,000 ft) of your material
  • Written process report with parameters and edge quality

Questions we get asked

Will laser processing affect seal integrity?

It depends entirely on the structure and the feature. Score depth relative to the sealant layer is the controlling variable. A lab trial answers that definitively and a specification sheet does not. Send the film.

How does this compare to mechanical perforation?

Mechanical perforation is limited by pin geometry and wears with use. Laser perforation holds hole size and pattern digitally, changes pattern without a tooling change, and can produce hole sizes and densities that pins cannot.
