Questions we get asked
Does the laser scorch the board edge?
Power, speed, and board stock set the edge browning, and it is tunable. On most coated and uncoated boards the process window produces a clean edge. The way to know for your stock is a trial, which is why we run one before quoting a machine.
Can it crease, or only cut?
Laser scoring produces the fold line by removing material to a controlled depth rather than displacing it mechanically. For most carton geometries this folds cleanly. We evaluate deep-crease constructions per board in the lab.
